Who Am I (Poem)

Having PMDD you often do not realise you’re in a bad cycle until you crash. This is not a war that I’ll ever out rightly win, I will always be in the middle of a battle. It is about being on the wining side.

I use to use poetry to help me through times of emotional pain caused by the hormonal imbalance.

I have found this month very hard and I have had more dips then I normally suffer with. With that in mind I decided to create a new poem today, ‘Who Am I’.

Demons lurk in the shadows

Fingernails bloodied

Crimson knots untie

Contentment or pretence

Darkness weighs heavy on the soul

Eyes closed, reason lost, destruction comes in many forms

Who I am, Who I was, Who I am, Who I was…

Little girl lost
